I Always Wanted to Be an Astronaut

I always wanted to be an astronaut
i’ll be a hero least that’s what I thought
but when I turned up at NASA HQ
I couldn’t believe what they made me do
I thought I’d get to go where few men had ever been
but instead they put me in a studio
and they just filmed me in front of a screen

I always wanted to be an astronaut
the best job in the world least that’s what I thought
but when I turned up at NASA HQ
I couldn’t believe what they made me do
they took out a harness and strapped it to me
and I had to pretend I was in zero gravity

I’ll be one the ISS least that’s what I thought
but when I turned up at NASA HQ

they told me that the ISS was all in my head
And I’d be going on a zero G plane instead

Oh man that was awful this ain’t what I signed up for
I threw up in that place you know
they don’t call it the vomit comet for nothing you know
never again

I really wanted to travel in that super fast rocket
but that ship left the launch pad and there was no one on it

they put me in a space suite and I looked really cool
but they just pushed me in the water and they filmed me in a pool

instead of doing something good for humanity
they made me the biggest liar that there ever could be
